Taiwan: confirmed cases of Measles.

According to French health authorities, the Seychelles’ Ministry of Health has reported 1 confirmed case and 23 suspected cases of chikungunya in Mahe so far this year. These are the first reported cases in Seychelles since 2007. Chikungunya is an arboviral infection, transmitted by mosquitoes. Travelers are advised to practice daytime and nighttime insect precautions.

Tropical Storm Aere passed over the northeastern Philippines on May 8, 2011. Flash floods and landslides are possible. Transportation and basic services have been disrupted. Travelers should avoid affected areas and monitor the situation through local media.

     Since mid-February 2014 there have been more than 2100 locally acquired confirmed or probably cases of chikungunya in the Carribean since the outbreak began in October 2013.  New additional cases have been confirmed in French Guiana, Aruba, Saint Kitts and Nevis. There were two bombs detonated in a shopping area in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh ( India) on February 21, 2013.  The bombs resulted in casualties, injuries and property damage.
