Dengue Fever: Jamaica

According to the Jamaican Ministry of Health there has been a significant increase in dengue fever throughout the country.  So far this year, there have been over 2000 cases reported.

Travelers are advised to practice daytime insect precautions.

  • Malaysia: Chikungunya

    According to Malaysia’s Ministry of Health, 22 confirmed (plus 29 suspected) cases of chikungunya have been reported in travelers to Pangkor Island near Perak State since January 2012. Chikungunya is an arboviral infection, transmitted by mosquitoes. Travelers are advised to practice daytime and nighttime insect precautions.
