Gardasil 9 Available in Canada

Gardasil 9

Merck has released their new vaccine for protection against HPV.  Gardasil 9 is indicated for girls and women ages 9- 26 years of age for prevention of cervical, vulvar, vaginal, anal cancer and pre-cancerous or lesions caused by HPV types 16, 18,31,33,45,52 and 58 and Genital warts caused by HPV types 6 and 11.

Gardasil 9 is also indicated for boys ages 9-15 years of age for prevention against anal cancer and precancerous or lesions caused by HPV types 16,18, 31,33,45,52 and 58 and genital warts caused by HPV types 6 and 11.

Gardasil 9 includes protection against the largest number of HPV types available in any HPV vaccine.

Received Gardasil does not treat an HPV infection and does not remove the need for women to have regular cervical screening.
